County Auditor

Elias Sissamis is a lifelong resident of Nueces County with over 30 years of financial and administrative experience in government, for profit, nonprofit, public accounting, consulting, and teaching.

He holds a Texas CPA, MBA, and BBA in Accounting. His professional traits include ethics, integrity, collaboration, leader-servant management style, adaptability, strong analytical ability, independent judgement, and is able to convey complex topics clearly. Though his background is in diverse industry sectors, he remains a public servant at heart.

Description of Office

• Appointed by District Judge(s).
• Serves as a check on the financial operations of other County offices.
• General oversight of all County books and records related to collection of money.
• Administers accounting records for all County funds.
• May audit all accounts of County and District officials.
• May conduct independent audits.
• Verifies the validity and legality of all county disbursements.
• Certain duties related to revenue forecasts.
